Student Sound Offs

"The Aggies [agriculture students] are only one part of our vast population. We've got great studio art, psychology, biology as well."

"In first year sciences, students have to take general biology, chemistry, physics etc. It lets them experience a bit of everything in each field, letting them better choose what they would like to continue with."

"Even though I had huge lectures with over 400 students, I really felt that most of my professors still cared about teaching and took the time to get involved with the class."

"We have so much open and green space. The buildings are older but they have been well kept up and it looks pretty on campus. There's lots of room to hang out and have fun outside."

"The food service is awesome. Instead of burgers and fries, I can have everything from freshly made pasta to a salad bar and quesadillas."

"There are so many ways to get involved on and off campus. I have been a very active member of the Peer Helper Program here at Guelph, have participated in a program that allowed us to volunteer helping Hurricane Katrina victims, and will be volunteering in India this summer (through a student life-run program)."

"Our Athletics Centre offers a weight room, gyms, and fitness classes. Our change rooms offer clean showers, bathrooms, and a sauna. They also offer recipes and eating tips to staying healthy, as well as personal trainers."

"The university is big enough to attract sufficient funding (at least in the sciences) and small enough that many students will have the opportunity, even at the undergraduate level, to participate in research projects."

"Over the past three years I have yet to have a TA who can speak English. I feel that the university is ripping us off when it comes to this area and should require TAs to be able to speak English."
